Inaugural Ben Hogan Classic at Fort Hood scheduled in March 2013

Oct. 18, 2012 – The Ben Hogan Foundation will host the first Ben Hogan Classic at Fort Hood on Friday, March 15, 2013. A youth clinic put on by the First Tee of Killeen will be conducted for the children of the soldiers in addition to the golf tournament. A social hour and awards ceremony then dinner for all the participants and their families will follow the tournament. The evening will conclude with a musical performance by Jolie Holliday and a guest appearance by Sonny Burgess. The sole purpose of this event will be to say thank you to the soldiers and their families. The 2013 Ben Hogan Classic at Fort Hood will be the biggest golf tournament on the largest Army base in the world. There is no cost to any soldier or family member for this military appreciation day. “We are committed to making this a very special day for the soldiers and their families,” said Robert Stennett, executive director of the Ben Hogan Foundation.
