May 13, 2015 – The Ben Hogan Foundation is pleased to announce that it will partner with Oakland Hills Country Club, the site of Mr. Hogan’s famous U. S. Open win in 1951 better known as the “Monster”, to help them celebrate their centennial birthday next year. “Oakland Hills is a very special club with a rich history and we are thrilled to help them celebrate their 100th birthday next year” said Robert Stennett, the executive director of the Ben Hogan Foundation. “Seldom have a found a membership so focused on preserving their history and with such a warm spot in the heart for Mr. Hogan.”
May 21, 2015 – At the Ben Hogan Breakfast Club on Thursday morning it was announced that Mr. Conner Parish will receive the Foundation’s third full scholarship. In partnership with Texas Wesleyan University (TWU), this scholarship pays all the books, fees, and tuition for Conner for four years given his academic performance is strong and his conduct proper. The Foundation’s Executive Director, Mr. Robert Stennett, will serve as Conner’s mentor as he pursues his degree from TWU.
April 25, 2015 – The Irish American Hall of Fame Class of 2015 included its first golfer – Mr. Ben Hogan in the category of “Sports”. Mrs. Lisa Scott, the great niece of Mr. Hogan, accepted this honor on behalf of the family at a black tie dinner in Chicago on Saturday night. Other honorees included, Mr. Bob Newhart, Mr. John Houston, Mr. Gene Kelly, and several others. Mrs. Scott’s remarks indicated she did not even know her great uncle was Irish, but should have figured it out based on Mr. Hogan’s personal attributes of work ethic, perseverance, and integrity.
